Summary: A very shallow cold-pool (~250 m deep) hangs on in the Salt Lake and Cache Valley as of 9 am as top-down mixing removes the cold-air. Cooling aloft and snow showers (1-2" accumulations possible) will result in complete cold-air pool mix-out Thursday afternoon.Top-down erosion of cold-pool in the last few days. Note the cold-air pool depth has decreased from 800 m on 17 Jan to 250 m this morning. |
