UWFPS 2017 daily cold-air pool forecast valid Thursday 01/19/2017  9 am MST
Summary: A very shallow cold-pool (~250 m deep) hangs on in the Salt Lake and Cache Valley as of 9 am as top-down mixing removes the cold-air. Cooling aloft and snow showers (1-2" accumulations possible) will result in complete cold-air pool mix-out Thursday afternoon.

Top-down erosion of cold-pool in the last few days. Note the cold-air pool depth has decreased from 800 m on 17 Jan to 250 m this morning.


Current weather outlook for Friday 20 January - Friday 27 January. 

Low temperatures will be 20-25 degrees F with high temperatures 30-35 degrees F through the period


Friday 20 January: Mostly cloudy with 30% chance of snow.  

Saturday 21 January:  Chance of snow (1-3" possible).

Sunday 22 January ***Partly cloudy. Potential break period in the morning*** Snow possible in the afternoon. 

Monday 23 January Chance of snow.

Tuesday 24 January Chance of snow.

Wednesday 25 January Mostly cloudy, clearing.
