UWFPS 2017 daily cold-air pool forecast valid Friday 01/20/2017  9:30 am MST
Summary: Dense fog and light snow showers continue today. A shallow cold-pool hangs on in the Cache Valley. A very shallow diluted polluted layer (~150 m deep) also remains in the northern Salt Lake Valley and over the Great Salt Lake. Full mix-out in these areas now expected Friday night or Saturday.

Current weather outlook for Friday 20 January - Saturday 28 January. 

Low temperatures will be 20-25 degrees F with high temperatures 30-35 degrees F through the period until 10 F colder air approaches on Tuesday.

Friday 20 January: Mostly cloudy with 30% chance of snow.  

Saturday 21 January:  Snow (1-3" accumulation possible).

Sunday 22 January Break period from midnight Saturday--11 am Sunday. Rain/snow mix possible in the afternoon. 

Monday 23 January Chance of snow.

Tuesday 24 January Scattered snow showers, cold and clearing late.

Wednesday 25 January Mostly sunny, cold.

Thursday 26 January onward. Potential for start of major ridge over western US, a prolonged cold-air pool episode. Stay tuned.
